Day 197 - Daddy's Girls

This afternoon we braved the very cold day to have some quick photos of Shane with the girls. Together the three of them had lots of cuddles and kisses to keep warm, and of course to create some beautiful family moments. They are indeed Daddy's little girls. They love nothing more than to wrestle, play with or even just laze on the couch watching television with their dad. It's moments like this one, that make me very grateful.

Day 195 - My Little Ray of Sunshine

Ava is most days a very happy go lucky girl. She is always smiling and singing her way around the house. Today, she has been practising her winking, with some very cute results. There were lots of photos which I could have used today, including some of Olivia attempting to take my photo with my phone - very cute, however I just loved the light on Ava's face and her beautiful bright eyes in this image. Indeed my little ray of sunshine.

Day 193 - Playing Photographer

Today Belinda and I got to play photographer with gorgeous baby Cooper. He has the most gorgeous dark hair and big beautiful eyes. It was a great experience using the manual setting on our cameras. He was ever the obliging model and seemed happy to be sitting around naked.

Thank you to Sarah for allowing us to come in and take these photos and for willingly participating as well!

Day 171 - Model perfection

Belinda and I have been attempting to take some photos while we are at work. We are finding that by the time we get home from work the natural light isn't that good for photos. So today, we lined up Katie to model for us so that we could both shoot at the same time. Katie was the perfect model. I just love this photo and the colours the sun brings out in her hair.

Thank you Katie for giving us great material to work with.

Day 168 - Love My Camera!

Today Belinda and I went to a workshop on how to use your DSLR camera in manual mode. The workshop was given by Angie Baxter - who owns a photography business in Melbourne (click here and here for more information) She was simply a wealth of information.

On a freezing Canberra day, we headed down to Lanyon Homestead to take part in this workshop and leave the auto settings on our camera on the road behind us. We knew it was going to be a great day when we came across cows on the road - thankfully they moved with a little horn tooting. It was great to have such a hands on experience to get used to the camera and how it works.

Rubber Duckie here was our first subject of the day and he was a great model, didn't blink nor move. I look forward to manual shooting more often now I am a little more confident. I can't wait to get more practice.

Day 158 - Photo Proof!

Today we received the email with photographic proof that we purchased our beautiful lot of land at Googong. When one of the ladies asked Olivia if she knew what we had bought, her response was 'Dirt'. Funnily enough we hadn't even talked to the girls about what we were buying! It was a timely response on her behalf.

I can't wait to start building already.

Day 142 - Where You Stand

Whenever I grab my camera out ready, the girls either run away or come running toward me and ask to say cheese. So I often find myself looking down at them with beautiful faces like the ones in today's photo. It is quite tricky to capture a quality moment with them both looking at me and smiling and so sometimes I just have to accept that either one will have their eyes closed or not smiling.

I am quite happy with where I stand today - it is such a great place to be with gorgeous faces like this looking up at me.

To inject a little inspiration into my blog this month, I have decided to play along with the challenge presented on Fat Mum Slim's blog (www.fatmumslim.com.au) and for today the theme was Day 21 - Where you stand

Day 112 - Playing with Friends at the Park

We met some friends at the park for a play this morning - a long overdue play! It was a lovely Autumn morning the park, the kids played, we chatted, it was perfect! It was also a perfect opportunity to break out my new birthday present and give it a whirl. Shane and the girls bought me a brand new Canon EOS 60D. It is all very new and I am very happy with the beautiful photos it takes.

Day 103 - Waiting time

Today I downloaded the Snapseed App to use - after many recommendations from Belinda. I thought today would be a good day to play with it as I had to take my mum to the hospital for an outpatient's appointment. So while I was waiting, I was discreetly taking photos of things to edit using snap seed.
These waiting room chairs would more than likely have been used back in the 70's - so I thought this a very appropriate filter to put on the photo! I look forward to editing some more photos with Snapseed.

Day 33 - Incomplete

It is strange having an office and not a classroom, and for those of you who know me extremely well know that I love to rearrange my classroom. My office is not big enough, nor is the rainbow room for me to do much rearranging so I am having to do small things to make it my own. Including a little sign on my door.

However, my organising is incomplete, and this is a second choice blog entry today. I was hoping to use the photo I took at boxing of Meagan and Melanie, but for some reason, Instagram didn't store the wonderful, glistening photo I took. Oh well, next time ladies.

I hope to have another photo of a completed rearrange of the office and rainbow room, which I now call my office. If only I can find the time to be in my office to organise it!
