Day 98 - An Evening with Friends

Tonight we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Teresa's house with the Duve and Haddock families. It is really nice to get together with such lovely like minded people. The kids big and small seemed to have a wonderful time together. Kaleigh and Ava were particularly friendly with lots of hugs and kisses for each other all night. Olivia and Ava also enjoyed chasing David and Jules around for a little while.

We enjoyed pizza and a delicious Flourless Chocolate Orange cake for dessert. Thanks Teresa for having us all for a delicious dinner - we are all looking forward to the next dinner together.

Day 68 - Priceless Friends

There are some people in my life who are priceless. I have a very small and amazing group of friends who I don't know what I would do without lately. Thank you in particular to Mel who sent me flowers today after hearing about all the things which have been happening lately. The beautiful bunch brightened up my day today.

Day 64 - A long time between drinks

Today, I finally got to have a sit down catch up with Mel without out three terrors running around us. It was great, I think it had been a couple of weeks since I had seen or even spoken to her with being crazy busy with work and other commitments. I know a couple of weeks doesn't seem that long, but from the daily contact we used to have weeks feels like months!

We headed across to Max Brenner's in Belconnen for a chocolate hit followed by some retail therapy. We enjoyed some banana chocolate crepes at Brenner's and it was delicious. I even found some new clothes.

Thank you Mel for being that wonderful kind of friend that it doesn't matter how often we catch up, it always feels like yesterday.

Day 62 - Delicious

Tonight I headed to Tosolini's in the city for a bit of a girls night out. I haven't been here before. As we walked in the door I couldn't help but eye off the dessert as I walked past, it all looked delicious. I settled upon a duck and chorizo pasta which was absolutely melt in your mouth divine! Dessert saw a chocolate and almond pudding satisfy my need for chocolate to end my evening on a high note.

Thank you ladies for letting me unload my problems, a great vent and most importantly a much needed laugh. I am looking forward to the next one already.

Day 43 - Chick Flick time

This afternoon I met some friends for a movie afternoon. We went to watch The Vow in Belconnen. A definite chick flick starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams. It was really nice to get out of the house with some lovely ladies and relax. I was disappointed with the ending of the movie, but overall it was a nice movie.  Thanks ladies, we must do it again.

Day 26 - Australia Day with friends

What better way to celebrate Australia day than with some beautiful people. We awoke to what looked like another wet day in Sydney and thought we'd take a look at some Australia Day events in Picton before we headed home.

Of course with the change in weather, the event had moved from the gardens to the town centre. They had a good set up with some face painting and craft areas for the kids as well as entertainers on stage. We left the celebrations and headed back home to have a picnic in the park before ending our holiday.

I have known Nerida since Year 9 at high school, and boy that was a long time ago. I think we are blessed to have such lovely people in our lives right now. 2 hours door to door travel time now, means I will have to make more of a noted effort for regular catch ups.

Day 17 - Fun and Frivolity with friends

Carlyn, Talia and Maya came down for a play at the beach this morning and they couldn't have picked a better day.

The girls happily played in the sand, building sandcastles, picking shells off the rocks, fetching water from the pools that formed near the rocks and squealing while being chased by the waves. It was just lovely to watch them play so nicely together at the beach. We all enjoyed a little fish and chips on the beach for lunch. Then our time together was up.

It was a beautiful day spent with beautiful friends. Thanks Carlyn for coming to visit us!

Day 6 - A well overdue morning with friends

This morning we caught up with Lauren, Kaitlyn, Max, Mel and Patrick for a well overdue playdate. It was the first time the girls have met Max, and as you can see Ava of course was smitten. She loves babies, usually babies are anything smaller than herself, she just wants to play with them, hug them and smother them with kisses.

It was lovely for Kaitlyn, Patrick, Olivia and Ava to all catch up and have a lovely play together, while the three of us had a really good catch up. It has been far too long and I am publicly noting that we will do it more often this year - you can hold me to that Lauren and Mel.
