Day 272 - Wet and Fun Friday!

Today Isabel came over for a play with the girls. We had talked at school about her wish to come play with the girls, why not make this plan on a wet and rainy day. The girls played happily together in their room, we had lunch, made cupcakes and did a little bit of cleaning up as well. Olivia and Ava enjoyed Isabel coming over for a play and so did I!

268 - A Walking ad for Bleach

Today was the first day of school holidays - with a few odd jobs on our list of things to do, the girls got some quality time outside. I possibly should have thought about dressing my daughter in white. Particularly when she thought washing her car with the dirt was a good idea. This is the end result - I think it is rather ironic how happy and proud she is looking in this picture, completely opposite reaction to what my reaction was.

Day 248 - Copy cats

I was home sick today, my first all year which I think is an impressive effort. When the girls came home from school they played copy cat and lined all their sick toys up on the pillow, cuddled them to make them feel better and then patted them to sleep. Such caring girls I have.

Day 192 - Friends at Play

Today I enjoyed a group time at the girls daycare centre. I took along the girl's favourite book 'Rhino's Don't Eat Pancakes!' written by Anna Kemp and illustrated by Sara Olgilvie, to read to the toddler room. Both Olivia and Ava were very excited that I was coming to read their story to them and their friends at school. But as soon as I had finished reading the book instead of heading off and playing with me, they just wanted to go home!

We also decided that we'd bring home our little mate Patrick for a play this afternoon. Everyone wanted to come home, 2 kids even got their bags to come along to my place this afternoon, and another told me that I had to put his car seat into my car. The three of them ate afternoon tea and played together happily buying me lots of things from the shop and making me eat and drink them!

Day 186 - Trans-tasman fun

Today we had a Trans-tasman gathering with the Morrison clan. They are over here on a little mini holiday so we had a catch up twice today, one with Olivia and Ava and one without! I was indeed spoilt! Gracie and Charlie have grown up so very fast and it was just lovely to catch up with them and Taryn of course.

The children played nicely together even though the last time the girls saw the Morrison family they were very little.

Thanks for coming and playing - the girls talked about you all afternoon.

Day 167 - Cubby house fun

Today we built a cubby house between chairs with a sheet to play in. It brought back lots of memories for me as we often had little cubby houses built with blankets and chairs to play in. The girls had a wonderful time playing together, singing and playing peek a boo. I just love the simple things that keep the girls entertained.

Day 52 - Olivia

Olivia was a little sick last night so she and Ava got to spend a day at home with daddy. Which was lovely I am sure. The best bit, even though she was a little unwell - no accidents today. Bye bye nappies! I captured this very precious moment of Olivia buttering her blocks and eating them. The imaginary play is very cute at the moment. Mums, babies, doctors, shoppers, buttering toast, I wonder what comes next?

Day 41 - Friends with fruit

Today Teresa, Kaleigh and Brydie came for a play this morning. The girls played happily together, with a few toilet breaks in between. The girls enjoyed a noodle lunch followed by a banana or an apple while enjoying a few episodes of Peppa Pig.

Thanks for coming and playing girls. We all enjoyed your company.

Day 25 - A putter of a good time

Today we awoke to another wet Summer's day in Sydney. We met my friend Carly and her kids for a play at a local play centre this morning. It must have been the plan for everyone else because it was so busy. It was lovely to catch up with Carly while the kids wore themselves out a little.

Then it was off to lunch with Nerida and Andrew before heading to Indoor Mini Golf. What a wonderful idea this was. I was a little worried after the bowling wasn't as big a hit as I had expected. But the girls loved hitting their ball around on the course. Naturally we didn't keep score, because I really don't know what the score is when one would carry the ball to the hole and tap it in. As long as we all had fun - who really cares what the score was?!

Day 20 - Multiple gathering

Today we went and met up with Ali, Alex and the tribes of kids.

We met at Pleasurelea where Ali and Tony have a cabin. Had a little dip in their pool. They are the most hospitable of people. Who'd have thought someone would turn up without lunch for themselves or their children, but that Ali and Tony brought out a great spread of food for us to share.

We did attempt to take a photo of the 7 kids, but by that point in the day, it was so hard to get them to all look at the camera at once.

Thank you Ali, Tony and Alex for a lovely morning.

Day 9 - A helping hand

With the weather a little cooler, the girls took the opportunity to get out in the yard and play.

It's a little easier now that they are a older to let them have a roam around the backyard by themselves and not worry about the things that I don't want them to play with or them hurting themselves. I captured this moment while sliding down their slide. Olivia asked Ava to hold her hand to help her, not that she needed it. When she was younger, she always wanted to hold our hand to go down the slide.

A very sweet moment shared between sisters.

Day 6 - A well overdue morning with friends

This morning we caught up with Lauren, Kaitlyn, Max, Mel and Patrick for a well overdue playdate. It was the first time the girls have met Max, and as you can see Ava of course was smitten. She loves babies, usually babies are anything smaller than herself, she just wants to play with them, hug them and smother them with kisses.

It was lovely for Kaitlyn, Patrick, Olivia and Ava to all catch up and have a lovely play together, while the three of us had a really good catch up. It has been far too long and I am publicly noting that we will do it more often this year - you can hold me to that Lauren and Mel.

Day 2 - Imaginations are great aren't they?

Imaginations are so much fun.

Santa brought the girls a dress up box each for Christmas. Every day since Christmas they have had the high heels, skirts, wings and pirate costumes out. Today was no different. Out came the fairy wings and the imaginations. With a little bit of help from Shane calling Olivia Princess Yoghurt after she was a broken down record asking for yoghurt. The highlight being of course when Shane got to wear the crown and became Princess Daddy.

I just love watching and listening to them engrossed in their own imaginative play.
