Day 152 - Something Beautiful

There is no more beautiful moment than a moment of love. This afternoon, after crazy hair day at school, the girls came to work with me for a little while. We chatted with some teachers and they were even lucky enough to get a Freddo frog from Kylie before we headed to Sarah's for a catch up with the lovely ladies from work.

It isn't very often that I can catch the girls in a warm embrace after being at daycare for the last 3 days because usually they are so exhausted that they usually play solo for the afternoon. I was glad to catch this beautiful moment together... It is just heart warningly beautiful.

Day 151 - Your Personality

I struggled to think of an idea to capture my personality today. My mum was the one who suggested taking a photo of bubbles to represent my bubbly, but not transparent, personality.

Day 150 - A number

One is a Snail, Ten is a Crab is a book purchased after seeing it at a Maths course we are currently completing at work. It is such a cute book and gives such wonderful counting sequences within the book. Funnily enough, I purchased this book not for school, but for Olivia and Ava who indeed love to count.

Day 149 - The Weather Today

The weather is typical end of Autumn weather. Cold and frosty mornings leading to sun filled yet crisp and chilly days. It was nice to see the sun make an early appearance this morning, hopefully we'll see the sun more than rain in Winter.

Day 148 - Something Sweet

Something sweet. Most of you would know I have a distinct sweet tooth.

Today could have been a variety of things - spending time with Nerida, who is very sweet, the caramel slice we shared at afternoon tea, the chocolate I enjoyed with my cup of tea, the lolly aisle at Costco.... the list could go on. Instead the best sweetness of the day came from Ava.

When Nerida and I got home from our afternoon of shopping I was greeted with lots of kisses and cuddles. Even sweeter when she serenaded me with the song 'I have loved you for a thousand years'. It really was the sweetest moment of my day.

Day 147 - 12 O'Clock

12 O'Clock today saw me putting the finishing touches on the cupcakes for Olivia and Ava's birthday party. I was planning on making Owl cupcakes, however with the Oreos breaking very easily, I gave up quickly and moved on to plain and simple freckles.

We had a great time celebrating at the Fun Factory with all our friends and even more so watching the big kids at heart enjoying the play equipment. My favourite part was not having to clean up after everyone ate! Fun was had by all in so many ways.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. I know the girls had a wonderful time.

Day 146 - Unusual

Unusual. There really isn't anything unusual about today for me.

We celebrated Olivia and Ava's 3rd birthday today with lots of fun. A morning consisting of opening presents and some cake decorating and the evening spending time and having dinner with family to celebrate another year's passing.

I am continually amazed at watching my babies grow up into little ladies.... well ladies most of the time! Happy Birthday Olivia and Ava!

Unusual is doubling up the photos for today.

Day 145 - Something New

Something new.... today would have been the perfect day to buy a new car - however I didn't, unfortunately, so I took the next best thing. Olivia and Ava turn 3 tomorrow and one of their presents is a new bike. I can't wait to see their faces when they wake up in the morning and find their bike and other little presents.

Day 144 - Technology

Technology - a favourite subject, tool, passion of mine. I use it everyday whether it be using my phone to make calls, check email or even be a social media junkie and check out Facebook. Tonight we used the iPad to get us to an information session about building at Googong held by Shaw Living. Thank you to Jen for getting us involved - it added some new thoughts to our land buying process, and gave us lots of inspiration for designing a house.

Day 143 - Pink

With pink being my favourite colour - one would think I had a plethora of options for my photo today. Which I did, but it wasn't until 8 o'clock tonight while making the second birthday cake that I rediscovered my favourite pink item. My beautiful pink Kitchen Aid. It is so pretty, I can't wait to display it one day soon in a brand new kitchen.

Day 142 - Where You Stand

Whenever I grab my camera out ready, the girls either run away or come running toward me and ask to say cheese. So I often find myself looking down at them with beautiful faces like the ones in today's photo. It is quite tricky to capture a quality moment with them both looking at me and smiling and so sometimes I just have to accept that either one will have their eyes closed or not smiling.

I am quite happy with where I stand today - it is such a great place to be with gorgeous faces like this looking up at me.

Day 141 - Something You Can't Live Without

There are many, many things I can't live without and my routine cup of tea before bed is definitely one of them. It just seems to end my day on the most perfect note. Thank you Shane for being so kind and making me my tea each and every night. It's perfect.

Day 140 - A Favourite Place

I was in Sydney this weekend for a multiple birth association state seminar. We ended the seminar with some barefoot lawn bowls. I did enjoy the lawn bowls, with my flat shoes on - my toes were too cold to enjoy walking on the grass. It isn't my all time favourite place, but to spend some quality time with friends is exactly where I call a favourite place.

Day 139 - Something You Made

There is nothing like curling up on the couch under this quilt I made with Japanese Fabrics. In fact, this was the first ever quilt I finished. I love to curl up under this quilt in Winter, with a cup of tea and a book on a cold and wet day. Today wasn't cold and wet, and I didn't get any time to sit at home under my beautiful quilt, but it is certainly something that I am very proud of, now to finish the other sewing or stitching I have collected so I'd have a wider variety of things I have made.

Day 138 - Snack

This afternoon, I left work to go and have afternoon tea with Sarah and Cooper and the ladies from work. I brought along the girls for the catch up this afternoon as they both love Cooper. While we were there it was snack time - an apple for Olivia and banana for Ava. Of course when they saw the chocolate biscuits on the table, they both wanted one of those. After finishing fruit, and enjoying a chocolate biscuit each - Olivia attempted to take another by telling me she had one for Ava too - she gets many points for trying to convince me - but not enough to have that second chocolate biscuit!

Day 137 - What You're Reading

Quite a selection of books I am reading, if only I had the time to read all of these - including books I have purchased on my kindle! I do love reading, but am finding it a little hard to find even just 5 minutes to sit and read one of these novels. The kids party cakes books will be read before the novels - while I endeavour to decide what cakes to make for the impending 3rd birthday.

Day 136 - Love

Love is the topic of today's photo. The three greatest loves I have are all subjects of my photo today. This afternoon Olivia and Ava showered each other with love, offering each other with some lovely cuddles for today - it is a beautiful sight to see them hold hands, cuddle or even kiss knowing there is nothing but everlasting love behind it. Shane is my other great love of course - together we have come through a lot and have created our amazing little family.

Day 135 - Grass

Grass - not the most interesting of topics, but one we are often talking about. We are attempting to regrow some grass in our dirt filled backyard - and by we I mean Shane. He has been very vigilant in his watering and nurturing of the lawn. Hopefully he will see some growth for all this love he has been putting in to his grass.

Day 134 - Mum

Today is Mother's Day, and I did get to spend some time with my mum, and attempted to catch a good photo of her today.... with no luck.

After a late night last night, I thought I was due for a sleep in. Olivia happily obliged, Ava was up and in our bed at 6:07am. I was a little tired, possibly a little grumpy, but was quickly awoken an with a kiss and cuddle from Ava - who wished me a happy Mother's day by saying to me 'I love you my mummy'. No matter what time of the day or night - these 5 words she says melt my heart. A perfect way to start the day.

Even happier that Shane - my guest photographer today - was able to catch all three of us with some sort of smile on our face and looking at the camera! Well done Shane.

Happy Mother's Day!

Day 133 - Something That Makes You Happy

There are many things that make me happy. One of which is just spending time with friends and family. We had some friends over for dinner tonight, with a late night and lots of fun had by the kids and adults, it was great when they went to sleep very late without a drama. I hope this means a sleep in for Mother's day tomorrow - that would make me very, very happy!

Day 132 - Kitchen

Today we had an afternoon play at Teresa's after a busy day. I was up very early to take my dad into have some day surgery, while Teresa - the wonderful friend that she is - looked after my girls. So once we finished at the hospital, we headed straight for Teresa's for a cuddle with my girls, a chat and a cup of tea. It is not often you see a 'real' kettle in a kitchen, certainly not in mine anyway!

Thank you Teresa for looking after the girls today, and for my chat and cup of tea.

Day 131 - A Favourite Word

There are many words I like. I like the sounds they make, the meanings they may have or just simply how they look.

One of my favourite words is sleep. Sleep I didn't get a lot of sleep when the girls were little and now that the girls are older I am wish I could regain some of that much needed sleep I lost back then.

Day 130 - Something You Do Every Day

Reading is a passion of mine. I just love to curl up in bed and read on those cold and rainy days. To hopefully inspire the girls into reading and loving reading as much as I do, We read them 2 stories each  night before bed. Usually it is me that does the reading, but it is a real treat when Shane does the story telling.

I know I am instilling the love of reading to them when I hear them retelling the story during their play time or while I am reading they are saying the story along with me. They have lots of favourite stories, mostly by Pamela Allen.

Day 129 - A Smell I Adore

Dessert doesn't feature in our house very often. Tonight it was decided while having our regular company for Tuesday dinner, that being Grandad and Poppy, we would have some apple pie for dessert.

Food cooking is often one of my favourite smells to come home to. Whether it be a cake baking, dinner cooking in the slow cooker or like tonight, a dessert treat on a cool night. I love Winter for this reason, it is casserole and hearty meal time. My house continually seems to have the aroma of baking and cooking. It is always an even better aroma when someone else has done the cooking of course!

Day 128 - Someone Who Inspires Me

The theme for today's photos is Someone Who Inspires Me.

The dictionary meaning of the word inspire is to fill someone with the urge or ability to do or feel something, esp to do something creative.

I took the liberty to edit today's photo a little because there isn't just one person in my life who inspires me more than another and there are people who inspire me who don't appear in today's blog. I will explain - there are always people in our lives that inspire us to try new things, to do better or simply to just be a better person. In their own way each of the people in my photo do just that.

My friends Belinda and Sue as well as Olivia and Ava are an example of people who inspire me.

Belinda inspires me in many ways - with her amazing cooking, creativity, technical suggestions and just general advice in general. It's great to have a friend who has similar interests as I find we often have similar ideas or thoughts.

Sue inspires me with her vivacious energy she always has. She is always willing to help with my mundane sewing or cooking questions and I happily reciprocate with some technical help every now and then. Sue is the definition of inspire: She makes me want to do things more creative - she is the key to me attempting stitching, which is becoming a regular feature in my evenings and spare time.

Olivia and Ava constantly inspire to make the future better for them. How I am doing that, is hard to put into words, but they are the reason I do the things I do.

Thank you to Belinda, Sue, Olivia, Ava and all the other people who inspire me in one way or another.

Day 127 - You

It is rare I like photos of myself, rarer for me to appear on my own blog! Usually I am the one taking the photo - funnily enough I still did take this photo. Today's theme for May is 'You' - so I am happily obliging.

This was me before heading out with the family to Collector for their Pumpkin Festival. It was a lovely day out, although a little windy. We had fun making scarecrows, sampling foods, listening to music and wandering around the stalls. Thanks Morgana, Tony and Isabel for coming along and keeping the girls in line!

Day 126 - Birds

Birds are certainly not my favourite animal and to account for this I rarely spot them nor do I go out purposely looking for them. Today while at Sue's house for some chatting and stitching I kept an ear out for birds (my eyes were too busy on watching the stitching) and finally, I decided to go out and have a look late this afternoon to see if there were any. I found these 2 galahs sitting on the power lines, granted a little hard to tell in this edited photo, but certainly 2 birds in perfect position for a my theme today.

Day 125 - Fun!

Fun comes in many forms for me. It ranges from playing games with the girls, spending time to those close to me and it includes getting to pick new frames for my glasses. I have been meaning to get new glasses for a little while as the current ones I leave some not so pleasant marks on my nose after wearing them. So I went out and picked a couple of new pairs (why not when you can get 2 for 1!) It is really fun trying on the many different pairs of glasses. I tried on a few really fun pairs and a few outrageous pairs which I knew I would never wear. Finally I settled upon a pair for everyday and a pair for sunglasses. I look forward to their arrival.

Day 124 - Something I wore today

Tonight I wore boxing glove while working out at what has become a favourite hang out for me, GetMyBodyBack health and fitness studio. I have been going to work out here for a little while now and have made some wonderful friends, all while getting fitter and healthier. Tonight was no exception - where else can you get your workout without the yelling but with a smile?

Day 123 - Skyline

With a very miserable and cold day, today's Photoaday May theme, skyline, was a little tricky. Yesterday gave us a perfect sunset for this topic. Today's was not so pretty. So I went for a drive after work and took a snapshot of a skyline showing the heavy clouds that hung over us all day. With a little editing with Snapseed and I think I'm happy with today's outcome.

Day 122 - Peace

With some extra inspiration from Belinda, I am completing a mini challenge within my Project 366. With inspiration lacking on some work days, we have decided to complete a Photoaday Challenge for the month of May (click here for more information). Today's topic is Peace. Peace comes in many forms. Since having the girls, peace comes once they are sleeping. I quite liked that Olivia only found peace tonight, once she took her pyjama's off.
